According to the decision of the United Nations, since 1981, ‘World Food Day’ has been celebrated worldwide on 16 October every year. The main objective of the day is to raise global awareness and take collective action to combat the problem of hunger and emphasize the importance of ensuring nutritious food for all. ‘World Food Day’ is very important in the campaign activities of Right to Food Bangladesh Network. In this context, a wide program of ‘World Food Day 2022 Campaign’ has been organized from 12-20 October. In continuation of this, today 16 October 2022, Sunday, 10:30 AM. Gatherings, short talks and colourful rallies were organized at Shahbagh National Museum premises. The rally started from Shahbagh National Museum and circled the Dhaka University Student Teacher Center (TSC) road and finished at the museum. At the end of the rally, leaders of Right to Food Bangladesh Network, youth representatives and civil society representatives spoke. General Secretary of Bangladesh Krishok Federation, Zayed Iqbal Khan, Deputy Executive Director of WAVE Foundation Anwar Hossain, youth Representative Arafat, Umme Fariha Nanziba and RtF BD Coordinator Kaniz Fatima spoke in this short discussion. Papel Kumar Shaha, an employee of Right to Food Bangladesh Secretariat, read the leaflet. The event was conducted by Aniruddha Roy, coordinator of WAVE Foundation.
